Still day

There is nary a breeze in the air today, so Alex took to spraying the vineyard with the second treatment recommended by Andrew Watson, our vine guru. These are organic preventative treatments against mildew. This one involves a concoction of potassium carbonate, sulphur and soap. 

The vineyard is so alive right now, with new leaves and shoots unfurling daily. I walked the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay rows, pulling grass and nipping buds off the vines' trunks.

A week of perfect weather

The Rondo and Solaris are leafing while the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay have finally had bud burst. The bees are flying and the wildflowers are bursting with life. It's glorious.
