Brilliant day

3-y-o Solaris vine

We are experiencing an amazing weather week. No rain, light winds, and, today, brilliant sunshine. It was glorious. I walked up into the vineyard to check on progress as the plum and cherry trees are in full bloom already.  Lo and behold, although the 5-year-old vines had not yet leafed, the first leaves were unfurling on the three-year-old specimens. Interesting.

We mowed the lawn yesterday as it was finally dry enough. The grass was very thick and tall. We haven't yet mown the vineyard and Alex has a problem with his knee, so we have to be careful. I will be planting out the Albarino vines in the next few days as Alex can't really kneel on the ground to properly position the vines. It will rain eventually, I hope. The climate is changing perceptibly. The kids are right to be concerned and doing something about it.

Alex will be building the first ten trellises and I will be digging up more docks and planting roses and companion crops. It will be a busy time of year. Looking forward to it.
