October climate stats are in

October felt wet and windy, and it certainly was. Total rainfall was 30 mm above the LTA, though not as high as in 2022.  We did get nice rainbows with the rain. Temperature was higher than the LTA but slightly lower than the past three years. The soil temperature was higher than in the past three years and the LTA.

Hurricane Melissa, which battered Jamaica as a Cat 5 storm, and moved on to Cuba and the Bahamas, is now on its way here. We have a few wet and windy days ahead.

Notes on the Data

Evaporation and PE data are calculated using Penman/Monteith formulae.
The ‘LTA’ (referred to within a table) is average for the climatological long-term-average (LTA) reference period 1981-2010.
Data updated daily at Mid-day.
